Kangaroo

The kangaroo, a symbol of Australia, is a marvel of adaptation and evolution. Known for their powerful hind legs and long tails, kangaroos are excellent jumpers, capable of covering great distances at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour. They use their tails for balance while leaping and as a prop when standing upright.

Kangaroos are herbivores, feeding on grasses and shrubs, which helps maintain the health of their arid and semi-arid habitats. Social animals, they live in groups called mobs, led by dominant males. Despite their resilience, kangaroos face threats from habitat destruction and human-wildlife conflict, emphasizing the need for sustainable coexistence.
